Internet poker has become world famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its television scores. Over the years several types on the original poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling vingt-et-un than long-standing poker, in that the players bet against the casino rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no concealment or different kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the croupier declares "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the casino and of course every one of the other gamblers are given 5 cards. After you have looked at your hand and the bank’s initial card, you have to either make a call bet or surrender. The call wager’s amount is on same level to your beginning ante, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes immediately to the house. After the bet comes the face off. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, with an amount on par with the initial bet. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The casino pays cash even with your initial bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
