Internet poker has become globally famous lately, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variations on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the house rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no concealment or different kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the croupier declares "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers attain five cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s first card, you must either make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s value is equal to your original bet, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your bet goes directly to the bank. After the wager comes the showdown. If the house does not have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, including a figure equal to the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The casino pony’s up money even with your ante and fixed expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
