Showing your hole cards in late spot may be a whole lot more profitable than in early poker spot. This is due to the fact that much more information is amassed right before acting.

i.e., I was playing a $1-$2 no limit cash game at a local spot. I came in with 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer button, so I could see some fun. Flop came down A-A-4. A gambler in early spot made a $15 wager. 2 entrants fold and it was my turn. I should have folded, but something seemed a little off. I labeled this person as a weak-tight individual, and normally if he had the best hand he would just check, so I called.

The turn showed with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My challenger placed another bet of $20. I debated for a while, but decided to re-raise a further $30thirty dollars on top of his twenty dollars. He folds and I take the pot.

Gambling at late position offers you an insight into where you sit by seeing how entrants behave and bet. On the flip side, gamblers at early position can use their poker spot to check-raise the last seated competitors and corner them later at the end. In Hold’em, each spots, last and early should be played cautiously.
