Seems like most persons are always talking about pre-flop method, so I would like to talk a tiny bit about how I wager on after the flop. Maybe I can help others, or possibly they’ve got advice to enhance my play.
I imagine that two of the most significant plays right after the flop are the semi-bluff and the defensive bet. Which is because these are the plays you generate whenever you havent hit a hand except you’ve a very good drawing hand. Its easy to play a hand whenever you flop a monster. But I imagine that these 2 are the ideal ways to play a drawing. Each one is played depending on you challenger(s) and your postion. So here’s how I wager on it, so tell me what you think.
Early Position – Tight Opponents:
A semi-bluff works fairly properly in this position. Appear out wagering and if a tight gambler didn’t hit a hand he will probably lay down, and if he is unsure you might have a call. But watch out, if that tight player comes back more than the top it might be time to get away.
Early Location – Loose Competitors
This can be were I like to accomplish a defensive wager. Make a decision how several chips you are willing to risk on your draw and wager. That is usually a much smaller wager than regular. It has been my experience that the loose player will usually just call a bet instead of re-raise. On the other hand, should you check to them, theyre more likely to throw in much more chips than your willing to pay.
Late Location – Tight Competitors
This is the very best time to complete a semi-bluff, specially if most of the table checks. If that is the case you will probaly pick up the pot now. If a player before has bet, you have to choose if he has a hand or not. If not, then reraise and he will probably go away since he was attempting to steal the pot. In case you imagine he does, properly then it is time to determine your odds, and come to a decision if the pot odds are worth the call.
Late Place – Loose Opponents
This one is often a bit tricky, simply because it is tougher to put a loose player on a hand. And if your in late placement against loose player, odds are they’ve already wager. That is had been I usually come to a decision to take a chance and come back over the best of them and pray they don’t call, and if they do, well then its time to gamble. Odds are though even a loose gambler will go away should you come back strong enough.
Keep in mind although that these are moves I only generate after the flop comes and I have a respectable drawing hand (usually not a gutshot either). Possibly four to the flush or the open ended straight, for instance.
